RSPCA rescue porcupine in Birmingham

11 Aug

The RSPCA recently made a fairly rare rescue concerning an escaped porcupine! The porcupine was discovered in Birmingham when a dog returned to his owner covered in porcupine spikes. Inspectors from the RSPCA had to carefully catch the spikey creature and keep him safe in a kennel until the owner could be traced.

It turned out that the porcupine’s owner was in fact a lady who looks after wild animals professionally. The porcupine had just recently come to live with her and had dug its way out of its enclosure.

It’s great that the two were reunited, but it is important to emphasise that this lady is an animal specialist and it is not recommended that porcupine’s are kept as pets!

On a final note; I still need lots more responses for my dissertation survey, so if you support a charity (either by donating or volunteering) please take a few minutes to help me out. I’d greatly appreciate it!

Lol well you wouldn’t expect THAT… Love your background by the way, I was in scotland in 2011, in the highlands, and I saw a lot of those cows. They are so cute!
